In line with sustainable development goals particularly Goal 16, the broader human rights foster democracy, freedom of expression, and access to information. It has prevented democracy is fundamental to sustainable economic development, peace, and justice. However, in Somalia extremist violence, terrorism, and prolonged conflicts undermine the democracy and freedom in the country which hinders the progress of peace and democracy.

Center for Prevention of Violent Extremism in Somalia supports youth and community sectors to equip with knowledge of participatory democracy through thinking and communications skills to unleash the community’s potential to foster friendships. We provide civic education and rule of law training and promote recognizing young people’s role in access to services or resources, and inclusion in the political process, Socioeconomic, and conflict resolution processes that make them vulnerable to being radicalized by terrorism violence activities, this initiative will reduce the youth radicalizations and transforming youth to a productive citizens and peace agents which reflects social cohesion.
